One of the important features in 2013 for NMU is the significant extension of international cooperation. Today University keeps the friendly relations with 116 educational, scientific establishments in Europe and in the world. 57 new agreements about cooperation were negotiated and concluded only during last year, including with higher medical schools in Russian Federation (36), Belarus (2), Bulgaria (1), Kazakhstan (2), China (2), Kuwait (1), Jordan (1), Germany (2), Uzbekistan (1), Palestine (2), Poland (3), USA (3), and France (1).
At present moment the agreements about cooperation with scientific educational establishments in Spain, Germany, Southern Korea, Poland and USA are at bilateral consideration. The vivid feature for last year was the establishment of friendly relations with colleagues from People's Republic of China.
Not in vain that namely the post-graduate student at Bogomolets NMU Siuy Yao for the first time in history of our state was awarded with the reward from Government of PRC in nomination “the best post-graduate student of China, who studies abroad – 2013” – the only one in Ukraine among 489 post-graduate students from 25 countries all over the world.
The special letters of gratitude from Government of People's Republic of China were awarded to rector of University, vice-president in NAMS of Ukraine academician V.F. Moskalenko and scientific supervisor of post-graduate student corresponding member in NAMS of Ukraine K.M. Amosova. Province Gansu (North-western China) is considered to be a “cradle” of Chinese traditional medicine. It should be mentioned that Department of health care in province Gansu is headed by Mr. Liu Veydjun – famous specialist in TCM in PRC, author of many original modern medical diagnostic devices that combine the traditions and principles of Chinese medicine and technical facilities of modernity.
In June 2013 our University was visited by delegation of specialists from administration on medical industry and pharmaceutical industry in province Gansu at the head with Mr. Liu Veydjun. During the meeting they discussed the long-term program for cooperation of medical men from province with scientists of NMU.
Further Ukrainian-Chinese cooperation was affixed by agreements about cooperation in training human resources for province Gansu, probation of doctors, postgraduate education of specialists, academic exchange of students and postgraduate students, establishment of joint bilingual scientific practical journal.
Already in October last year the Institute of Chinese traditional medicine “Tsikhuan” was established on the base of our university, during its official opening we held the international educational seminar-training on main principles for practice of TCM. Teachers at training were professors from University of TCM in province Gansu (PRC).
In November-December 2013 12 doctors-dentists from dental clinics in different cities of province passed through probation at Dental medical center of NMU and received the certificates on course “Urgent issues in dentistry”.
At present moment we are again waiting for colleagues at postgraduate education courses in neurology and dentistry, and famous professors from University of TCM in Gansu will read the lectures on TCM to Ukrainian doctors, young scientists and students. It is important that the development of cooperation of our University with scientific educational establishments of China, in particular, province Gansu, takes place within arrangements for Ukrainian Chinese cooperation in the sphere of health care, approved by Memorandum about mutual understanding between Ministry of health care of Ukraine and State administration from People’s Republic of China on traditional Chinese medicine about cooperation in the sphere of TCM.
