THE PREPARATION FOR SUMMER SEASON AT RECREATION CAMP “MEDIC” WAS FINISHED

On 10, June, 2016 the members in commission on quality control of repair construction works at O.O. Bogomolets National medical university checked the conditions of readiness for camp “Medic” for recreation season of students at university in 2016.

The students’ recreation base is ready for reception of campers.

According to the words by chairman in commission, head at department of capital repair and construction Klavdiia Vynokhodova, this year they made the capital repair of building for sanitary facilities and toilet, installed the new toilet bowls and wash stands, made the modern men’s and women’s shower units with mixers, hot water supply and installed the new boilers.

In the territory of the camp they renewed the outside lighting, which was not operated. According to the safety rules they laid the electrical supply network, installed the posts with lanterns, which provide with the lighting of the camp during dark period of the day. They also performed the replacement of roofs on sanitary buildings, which used to be in emergency conditions, made the waterproofing finishing, put the tiles, and finished the separate room for laundry.

The repair works were performed not only outside, among important things – unclogging the drains. The territory of the camp is arranged and it has already been waiting for campers. Let’s remind that the accommodation is carried out in one storey wooden buildings, which are equipped with the furniture, bedding and linen according to regulatory requirements.

O.O. Bogomolets NMU invites students to spend the summer vacation at SRC “Medic”, which is located in the ecologically friendly area near river Kozynka and in the suburb of Kyiv – Konche-Zaspa.

GRADUATION OF 1971: THE MEETING IN 45 YEARS

The regular eighth meeting of doctors, devoted to the 45th graduation from sanitary hygienic faculty at Kyiv medical institute in 1971, took place on 3, June, 2016 in A.V. Korchak-Chepurkivskyy lecture hall No 2.

Unfortunately, such third meeting, devoted to the regular 15th anniversary in 1986, did not take place because of the breakdown at ChNPP. This year the lecture hall contained 36, already grey headed graduates of KMI, who came to the meeting from Kyiv and region, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Ternopil, Kirovohrad, Odessa, Kharkiv and other regions of Ukraine. The meeting was held in the warm friendly atmosphere, all present people expressed the sincere gratitude to the administration of NMU at the head with the rector of University corresponding member in NAMS of Ukraine professor K.M. Amosova for possibility to meet at alma mater.

The graduates of 1971 with a minute of silence reverenced the cherished memory of their colleagues - course mates, many of them have already died. The speakers with warm words reminded of their teachers, professors M.S. Spirov, Yu.V. Shanin, M.I. Zazybin, S.S. Diachenko, I.M. Morgunov, G.Kh. Shakhbazian, I.S. Slepushkina, R.I. Malykhin, V.S. Nesterov, Y.G. Turovets, etc.; rectors V.I. Milko and S.S. Lavryk, their first deans – professors R.D. Gabovych and I.D. Khorosha. With the special warmth and gratitude they reminded of their dean, head at department of municipal hygiene professor Ye.G. Goncharuk – “general” as the students called him, deputy dean, assistant professor I.M. Makarenko and other teachers not only in sanitary hygienic faculty but KMI in general, who taught the graduates from sanitary hygienic faculty with hygienic thinking, to serve to the prevention and propagation of healthy lifestyle.

Every five years on the first Saturday in June the graduates come to Kyiv to the university for traditional meeting and alma mater always gladly welcomes them.

The announcement of results and awarding the winners in Grant conference of students 2016 took place on 7, June, 2016 in conference hall of administrative building of O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University (BNMU)).

The pro-rector on scientific work, professor Tetiana Cherenko, acting head at scientific research unit Andrii Dinets, representatives from Society of young scientists and specialists at O.O. Bogomolets NMU, members in O.A. Kysil SSS and winners in the conference last year took part in the event.

The welcome speech to present people was made by professor Tetiana Cherenko. “The Grant conference of students has the educational and educative importance. I would like to mention that the quality of submitted projects, content-rich reports, clear structure of presentations by students this year have improved”, - emphasized Tetiana Cherenko. The pro-rector called the students of the university to take part in III Grant conference, which will be held in 2017, and to strive for creation of grant projects.

By the decision of the jury this year, the winners in Grant conference of students were the student of the 4th course in medical faculty No 3 Maksym Druzenko with the project “Peculiarities for influence of biofilm formation on activity and timing of pyelonephritis at children and possibilities of correction” and student of the 5th course in medical faculty No 2 Lesya Turuk with the work “Definition of efficiency in regeneration of periphery nerve after electric welding of epineurium in experiment on the base of dynamics in electroneuromyography indices”. The grants were awarded to perform the scientific researches.

The winners are grateful to University administration for the possibility to implement their scientific works.

O.A. KYSIL SSS SUMMED UP THE RESULTS FROM ACTIVITY OF ACADEMIC YEAR

The final meeting of O.A. Kysil Students’ scientific society this year was held on 7, June, 2016 in morphological building of O.O. Bogomolets National medical university. Over 40 students of University became the new members in SSS.

The work of the society this year was fruitful: they organized tens of scientific, educational medical events, interesting lectures, students’ conferences, round tables, trainings, seminars.

At the meeting they also discussed the ways for intensification of scientific work by students, improvement in notification of students about university, all-Ukrainian and international scientific events. They discussed the preparation for organization of the II International conference «Annual Young Medical Scientists Conference».

The scientific activity of students at SSS is dynamically developed. Every year more and more students join to it, the number of scientific publications is increased; the students’ medical projects are created.

The collective of O.A. Kysil SSS expresses the gratitude for overall assistance and support to the university administration and teachers, who assist to development of students’ science at O.O. Bogomolets NMU. As well as it welcomes the new members in O.A. Kysil Students’ scientific society.

UKRAINIAN POLISH COOPERATION IN THE SPHERE OF PUBLIC HEALTH

The International scientific practical conference “Modern challenges for public health. Poland-2016”, organized by Polish society of social medicine and public health, took place on 4, June, 2016.

Over 200 leading scientists in the sphere of social medicine and public health from 7 countries all over the world took part in the scientific forum.

Ukraine was represented by heads at departments of social medicine and health care organization from O.O. Bogomolets National medical university (professor Gruzeva T.S.), Danylo Galytskyy Lviv national medical university (professor Liubinets O.V.), Ivano-Frankivsk national medical university (professor Detsyk O.Z.) and director of medical institute at Sumy state university (professor Smiyanov V.A.).

The program of International conference anticipated 2 panel discussions and 7 section meetings. The first deputy minister of health care of Poland Yaroslav Pinkas, who told about the main provisions of “National program “Health”, took part in the work of the forum.

The managers, leading scientists on issues of social medicine and public health, teachers at medical universities from all regions of Poland and other countries took part in discussion.

Professor Gruzeva T.S. together with professor I. Markushevskyy from Warsaw moderated the meeting of section No 1: “International problems of public health”. The scientific school of social medicine of O.O. Bogomolets NMU presented 5 reports, which caused to significant interest. The theses of reports were published in collection of scientific works by the conference.

During communication at panel discussions and section meetings they achieved the agreements about further cooperation of specialists from scientific schools in different countries, about performance of joint scientific researches and about publication of scientific works in international chronicles.

THE ASSISTANT AT DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACEUTICAL, BIOLOGICAL AND TOXICOLOGICAL CHEMISTRY AT NMU WON IN TWO COMPETITIONS OF SCIENTIFIC WORKS

The assistant at department of pharmaceutical, biological and toxicological chemistry Glib Khrapach won in the competition of oral reports at XVIII scientific youth conference “Problems and achievements of modern chemistry”, which was held in city Odessa on 17 until 20, May, 2016 on the base of O.V. Bogatskyy physical chemical institute at NAS of Ukraine.

The work at the conference was held in two sections: section of organic, bioorganic chemistry and biochemistry and section of inorganic, analytical chemistry and ecology. The report by Glib Khrapach “Arentricarbonyl complexes of chromium – a new approach to the synthesis of unknown cyclohexadienes with perfluororalkin group” took the first place among competitive works in both sections.

Besides, Glib presented the work “Arentricarbonyl complexes of chromium in reactions of perfluoroalkylation and dearomatization” at XIV all-Ukrainian conference of young scientists and students on urgent issues of modern chemistry, which was held at Oles Gonchar Dnipropetrovsk national university since 24 until 26, May, 2016. His report was acknowledged to be the best one in section “Organic and pharmaceutical chemistry”.

The scientific work by Glib Khrapach under supervision of Doctor of Chemistry, professor Yuriy Yagupolskyy, is devoted to development of new methods for synthesis and design of small molecules – cyclic diene systems with trifluoromethyl substitute – powerful pharmacophore.

The 2nd Grant conference of students in O.O. Bogomolets NMU took place on 31, May, 2016.

The jury of the conference consisted of members in Scientific coordination council with the head of pro-rector on scientific work, professor T.M. Cherenko and was represented by respectful judge collective consisting of academician in NAS and NAMS of Ukraine, head at department of surgery No 3, professor P.D. Fomin, academician in NAMS of Ukraine, head at department of pediatrics No 4, professor V.G. Maydannyk, corresponding member in NAMS of Ukraine, head at department of histology and embryology, professor Yu.B. Chaykovskyy, head at department of dentistry of postgraduate education, professor M.Yu. Antonenko, head at department of orthopedics and traumatology, professor O.A. Burianov, head at department of clinical immunology and allergology with section of medical genetics, professor A.I. Kurchenko, head at department of topographic anatomy and operative surgery, professor V.A. Cherniak, pro-rector on international relations, professor O.V. Linovytska, director in Dental medical center of NMU professor A.V. Kopchak, director in Scientific research institute of experimental and clinical medicine, professor L.V. Natrus, acting head at scientific research unit A.V. Dinets.

The conference was opened by pro-rector on scientific work, professor T.M. Cherenko. She in her speech emphasized the main principles for Grant conference, welcomed the members in Scientific coordination council, winners in the previous conference, competitors of this year and attendants and wished the fruitful work to all.

The program of the conference started from speeches by winners in the 1st Grant conference of students (it took place on 27.05.2015), who presented their reports about researches, performed during the year. The first report was made by graduate from O.O. Bogomolets NMU Mykhaylo Kolotylo about fulfillment of work on topic “Myoglobin as a diagnostic criterion at pathology of periphery nerves”, after that he answered the questions from members in jury and attendants of the conference and informed that he will continue working on this topic further. The relay race of speeches was continued by the student of the 5th course in medical faculty No 1 Solomiia Semeniv, who presented the results from work “Efficiency of sleeve gastrecromy in treatment of adiposity with accompanying hypotheriosis”. She reported about statistical authenticity of received results and importance of experimental researches on surgical treatment of adiposity. She also answered the questions of jury and thanked for provided possibility to perform this work. The last from last year’s winners was the student of the 3rd course in medical faculty No 3 Ahmad Juma with the report and results from performed “Research on neuroprotective action of ASIC blocking agent No 005 at lithium pilocarpin model of epilepsy”. After the speech A. Juma emphasized that despite the long process for implementation of the agent under research into clinical practice he and his scientific supervisors in his research could prove it efficiency in vivo.

The program of the conference was continued by speeches from competitors in the 2nd Grant conference, who presented the projects of their researches:

1. Turuk Lesya Serhiivna, student of the 5th course in medical faculty No 2, - “Definition of efficiency in regeneration of periphery nerve after electric welding of epineurium in experiment on the base of dynamics in electroneuromyography indices”;

2. Druzenko Maksym Gennadiyovych, student of the 4th course in medical faculty No 3 – “Peculiarities for influence of biofilm formation on activity and chronization of pyelonephritis at children and possibilities of correction”;

3. Gorovtsova Maryana Viktorivna, student of the 5th course in medical faculty No 1 – “Peculiarities for Icc-channels in nuclear membrane of cardiomyocytes and their role in development of myocardial hypertrophy”.

After the discussions of projects were finished the speech was made by pro-rector on scientific work, professor T.M. Cherenko, who emphasized the importance of Grant conference for development of students’ science, as well as she reminded about necessity in observance of all rules for modern science and constant improvement of quality in students’ researches. After that the members in jury proceeded to assessment of works, and the participants and guests of the Conference had the possibility to listen to extraordinary interesting lecture by professor Jeffrey Ansersen (USA) on topic “The impact of clinical trials and guidelines in advancing medical practice”. The scientist told about the main principles for performance of modern clinical researches, their statistical authenticity and perspectives for further development of evidence-based medicine.


The pro-rector on scientific work, professor T.M. Cherenko expressed the sincere gratitude to professor Andersen. As well, Tetiana Makarivna announced about necessity for members in Scientific coordination council to get acquainted with all material, submitted to organizing committee by competitors, in this connection about postponement in definition of results from the conference.

The conference was finished with the lecture by deputy director in Fulbright program of academic exchanges in Ukraine Inna Barysh. She told about opportunities of this program for medical students, famous Ukrainian graduates from this program, and main requirements to competitors, rules and periods for submission of documents, exams, which should be taken for participation in the program. The students showed the high interest in presented material and expressed the gratitude to the lecturer.
