CONFERENCE “URGENT ISSUES OF MODERN BATTLE TRAUMA”

The interdepartmental scientific practical conference “Urgent issues of modern battle trauma” on the base of Mariupol city hospital No 2 was organized and performed on 17, May, 2016 by joint efforts of employees at department of orthopedics and traumatology at O.O. Bohomolets National medical university, specialists from National military medical clinical center and employees of health care system in c. Mariupol.
Over 200 specialists in health care system both of military and civil medicine from the whole Ukraine, in particular Kyiv, Odessa, Kharkiv, Irpin took part in the conference. City mayor of c. Mariupol Vadym Boychenko, head at city department of health care at Mariupol city council Olga Golubchenko, deputy director in Military medical department at Ministry of defense of Ukraine, colonel of medical service Oleg Liashenko, chief orthopedist-traumatologist at MHC of Ukraine, deputy director on scientific activity at SE “Institute of traumatology and orthopedics at NAMS of Ukraine”, professor, Doctor of Medicine Serhii Strafun, head at department of traumatology and orthopedics at O.O. Bohomolets National medical university, Doctor of Medicine, professor Oleksander Burianov welcomed the participants in the conference.
During solemnities the employees of SE “Prof. M.I. Sytenko Institute on pathology of spine and joints at NAMS of Ukraine” presented the motor frame (by own design) to perform the rehabilitation of injured with traumas of lower extremities to department of traumatology at emergency care hospital in c. Mariupol.
During the working session they discussed the urgent issues in military field surgery, in particular, battle trauma of extremities, chest and stomach organs, problems on rendering the emergency aid at different stages of medical evacuation of injured. The master class on application of external fixation devices by “Ortopak” Firm, designed by professor Oleksii Popsuyshapka was also performed for participants in the conference.
During event they performed the press conference with local mass media. “The purpose of such events is first of all to unite both services of medical aid: civil and military, and, as a result, to form the uniform system for treatment of injured with battle trauma”, - mentioned head at department of orthopedics and traumatology at O.O. Bohomolets NMU while answering the questions of journalists. “Such conferences in Mariupol shall become traditional. At present moment namely this city is the most organized and full value system on rendering the aid to injured people near the front line, thus, namely the constant improvement in quality of treatment in such strategic place is the most important task”.
