CHARITABLE ACTION “SUCH AS ME”

The charitable action “Such as me” for children with disability took place on 11, June, 2016 in Taras Shevchenko park (Kyiv).
The event was organized by representatives from Students’ parliament of O.O. Bogomolets NMU together with public organization “Family”.
The purpose of the action is to attract the attention of the society to the problems of children with special needs, their full value adaptation to the society. Over 30 students – volunteers of university, who performed the games and relay races, as well as art therapy for children, took part in the event.
Such actions are held within educative campaign, devoted to the topic on development of inclusive society. The organizers emphasize the idea about involvement of children with disability into all links of public life, dispelling the myths about topic of people with disability. The fair and entertainment program for children was performed within the action, as well as flash mob, where the children with special needs together with their age mates in pairs demonstrated the “joint action”: the guests of capital Shevchenko park gathered at hearing the western African drum jembe.
The performance of such events brings up the tolerant society, as the students – organizers assure. In the future the actions will be held more often as the communication with special children makes the world kinder.
