REPORTING MEETING OF STUDENTS-MEMBERS IN TRADE UNION OF BNMU

The final meeting of students-members in trade union of BNMU was held on 16, June, 2016 in morphological building of O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University.

The rector of university, professor Kateryna Amosova visited the event.

During the meeting the representatives from working commissions and divisions, included into trade union, made the reporting speeches.

According to the words by chairman in trade union of BNMU Vlasiy Pylypko each member in students’ organization made the significant contribution into its development. “No one left indifferent and all worked for result – the positive image of students and university”.

The deputy chairman in trade union Mykhaylo Barskyy told about activity of commission on social and legal defense. “The active members ran the registration of privileged students, introduced the data into ACS (automatic control system), and during a year the people, who needed the help, received the material aid in the amount of UAH 114 thousands”, - he mentioned. The work on ordering the travel passes for students were positively assessed. During 2015-2016 academic year almost each second student ordered the privileged ticket for travel by public transport – the total number of travel passes is 45 707, the saving was approximately UAH 4.5 millions.

Khrystyna Koptsiukh, who represented the commission on living conditions at trade union, told about the changes that took place at the hostels of university. The new household appliances – washing machines were installed at hostels No 7 and 7a. The team of active members from commission took part in settlement of students from the first course and in formation of lists of recommended persons for settlement next year.

The deputy chairman in trade union Vitaliy Melnychuk told about results from cultural mass activity. During a year the members in trade union organized “Poetry Music Night”, literary club “Bamboo”, fair “St. Nicholas Factory” and “The second charitable dance”, during which the students managed to collect UAH 26 thousands. This money will be transferred to the military hospital of veterans in GPW, participants in military actions and ATO.

The achievement of sports commission at trade union was the establishment of Sports club at NMU and material provision of gym, for which the students are grateful to University administration.

The chairman of health improving commission Vitaliy Denysiuk told about its activity. The members in commission are engaged into preparation of territory of camp “Medic’ for start of summer season, organizing the cleaning on Saturdays.

The rector of O.O. Bogomolets NMU, professor Kateryna Amosova thanked the students for performed work and active performance of trade union. Together with chairman in trade union of BNMU Kateryna Amosova awarded all, who took an active part in organization of “The second charitable dance of NMU”, “Medic Sport fest”, as well as the six year students, who made the significant contribution into development of students’ organization, with charters of honor and gratitude.

BNMU’S STUDENTS’ PARLIAMENT AT FINAL MEETING


The final meeting of Students’ parliament this academic year was held on 16, June, 2016 in morphological building of O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University (BNMU).

The students discussed the results from work of Students’ parliament since election of the new chairman – Kostiantyn Kovalishyn. During academic year the members in Students’ parliament performed active public, educational and charitable work. They cooperated with charitable funds “Schaslyvi doloni” and “Rodyna”, organizing the charitable actions for sick children under title “Such as me”.

Together with students of KPI and KNU they organized the scientific lectures. They took part in project “Club of foremen”, which purpose was to perform the art therapy for people, aged over 90 years. During the year they visited the military hospitals, where they rendered the psychological aid to the patients, who were on rehabilitation. On the base of department of oncology of NMU the members in Students’ parliament performed the art therapy, helping to oncology children.

Together with O.A. Kysil SSS they organized the lectures on rendering the first medical aid, control bleeding, and notification about HIV/AIDS.

The representatives of Students’ parliament performed Embroidered T-shirt Day at university and took part in events on training and celebration of Faculty Days.

Every month, collecting the necessary things, the members in students’ parliament visited the orphanages, presented the clothes, office supplies and sweets to children.

The scientific experimental project “Healthy nutrition” was for the first time performed among students, everyone could pass through examination and to choose the right ration for him/herself.

As it concerns the economical issues – they renewed and repaired the hangar, where students can play football.

As it concerns the cultural mass events the students organized the charitable art exhibitions, photo shows, concerts, auctions. Among the later ones – Mister NMU and the First creative party of students, where they presented the pictures, handmade goods and authors’ performance of musical works.

The large-scale event was also the presentation of journal “Iodine”. There was the discussion about further direction for development of journal. The students made their corrections and proposals that will be taken into consideration in future issues. At the meeting they approved to continue the issue and development of journal.

The students’ parliament elected the new deputies as the previous one – the student of the 5th course in pharmaceutical faculty Anton Gonchar is this year the graduate of NMU. The collective of SP thanks Anton for diligent work and active public position.

The new deputy chairmen of Students’ parliament became the student of the 2nd course in medical faculty No 2 Kostiantyn Bondar and student of the 4th course in medical faculty No 1 Mariia Zakharchenko.

The members in SP of NMU think that it is possible to achieve the results and to implement the innovative ideas into life of students at university only by joint works of all divisions at parliament.

STATE EXAMS AT FINAL STAGE

“In order to determine the professionalism of an actor and doctor, it is necessary to see them at their working place: - actor – on the stage, doctor – near the bed of patient”. These popular expressions belong to the famous representative from Kyiv school of therapists, professor A.P. Peleschuk. Namely at Republican clinical hospital of MHC of Ukraine, where Anatoliy Petrovych worked for many years, the today’s generation of graduates from medical faculty No 1 takes the exam in professional maturity. The examiners pay attention first of all to the abilities of students to perform the clinical examination of patient, to collect anamnesis and to establish the previous diagnosis on its basis, to determine further tactics of treatment. Thus, the exam is called practice-oriented, during which the students demonstrate the theoretical knowledge in internal, infectious and occupational diseases and abilities to apply them in a concrete practical situation.

The examiners also make the accent on practical part of exam when the students in medical faculty No 4 have the exam in discipline “obstetrics and gynecology”, which is held in the capital maternity clinic No 6. The exam is held in three stages, each of them is of practice-oriented. The students near the bed of patient demonstrate the abilities and skills for examination of pregnant woman, develop the plan for management of patient. They demonstrate their practical skills on training devices and homunculi. And while solving the situational tasks the students show the abilities to use the data of instrumental and laboratorial examination.

SEMINAR ON “URGENT PROBLEMS IN BIOCHEMISTRY”21 June 2016

The seminar “Urgent problems in biochemistry” was held at the beginning of June, 2016 on the base of department of biological and bioorganic chemistry at O.O. Bogomolets National Medical University (BNMU).

The scientific event was performed under support from university administration, trade union of students at NMU and O.A. Kysil SSS.

The program of the seminar included the consideration of various issues in the sphere of theoretical and practical biochemistry, the students of university made the reports. The purpose of the seminar was to unite the efforts of young scientists to improve the public health.

The students from Vinnytsia and Uzhgorod medical universities also took part in the work of the seminar.

Due to results from voting the members in jury elected 5 winners, whose reports were highly assessed by present people and participants in the seminar.

The first prize place was occupied by the report by the student of the 2nd course in medical faculty No 2 Valeriy Orel on topic “Role of free radicals and nanocomplex on the basis of iron (II, III) oxide in treatment of malignant tumors”. The second place was shared by three students of the 2nd course in medical faculty No 2 Anna Zabila, Anastasiia Zlotnyk and Dmytro Drychyk on topics “Action of phytosterols on metabolism of cholesterol in the liver under conditions of alimentary hypocholesteremia”, “Polyvectorial effect of galascorbin. Mechanism of action of galascorbin as a non-hormonal contraceptive agent”, “Influence of polyphenols with P-vitamin on oxidation of ascorbic acid on example of “galascorbin”, accordingly. The third place was awarded to the student of the 2nd course in medical faculty No 2 Artem Lytvynenko. He presented the work under title “Contamination of drinking water with heavy metals salts and their extraction from solutions by nanocomposite of zirconium (IV) oxide. Toxic influence of heavy metals ions on human organism”.

The winners in the seminar “Urgent problems in biochemistry” were congratulated by chairman in Trade union of students at NMU Vlasiy Pylypko and deputy chairman Mykhaylo Barskyy, and received the monetary rewards. According to the words by Vlasiy Pylypko the trade union of students at NMU always assists to development of science and its popularization among students’ community of National medical university.

The materials of the conference will be published in Ukrainian scientific medical youth journal.
