MEETING OF HEADS AT DEPARTMENT WITHIN THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE TO WORLD HEALTH DAY

The meeting of heads at specialized departments, where the disciplines “Social medicine, organization of health care”, “Social medicine, organization and economics of health care”, “Biostatistics” and “History of medicine” are taught, was held on 8, April, 2016 within the performance of International conference to World Health Day “Win the diabetes mellitus” at O.O. Bogomolets National medical university”.

The representatives from O.O. Bogomolets NMU, as well as foreign guests from Czech Republic, Slovak Republic and Poland took part in the meeting.

The head at department of health care organization and social medicine, professor Tetiana Gruzeva made the welcome speech to participants. “I congratulate the participants in section heads at departments with the second day for work of the Conference, I hope that our fruitful cooperation will become the driving element in work of our departments”, - mentioned Tetiana Gruzeva.

The guests and participants, being present at the Conference, considered the modern approaches to formation of academic programs in public health according to European experience and national context, issues on development of scientific educational direction in public health service, urgent aspects in teaching the academic discipline “Economics of health care”.

INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC PRACTICAL CONFERENCE TO WORLD HEALTH DAY

The annual International scientific practical conference to World Health Day, which World Health Organization in 2016 devoted to the issues on prevention, detection and treatment of diabetes mellitus, is held on 7-8, April, 2016 at O.O. Bogomolets National medical university. The purpose of World Health Day is to pay attention of the world community to the most important problems in global public health.

The organizers of the Conference were Ministry of health care of Ukraine, O.O. Bogomolets National medical university, NAMS of Ukraine, Representative Office of WHO’s Bureau in Ukraine.

The academicians, scientists, doctors, specialists from Poland, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, as well as from leading medical establishment in Ukraine took part in the Conference.

The rector of O.O. Bogomolets National medical university, professor Kateryna Amosova made the welcome speech on performance of World Health Day to the participants in the Conference. “I am sincerely sure that the knowledge, experience and scientific discussion by participants in the Conference will attract the attention of the whole community to the problems of diabetes mellitus, and the overall awareness of population about symptoms of diabetes mellitus will have the determinative importance in order to avoid or to slow down the development of its complications”, - mentioned Kateryna Amosova.

The president in NAMS of Ukraine, academician Vitaliy Tsymbaliuk, director in medical department of MHC of Ukraine Vasyl Kravets, national specialist in struggle against non-infectious diseases at WHO’s Bureau in Ukraine Nataliia Korol took part in the solemnities of the event and made the welcome speeches. Among foreign guests there were Fal Andjey Mariush (National institute of public health, Warsaw (Poland); Preus Karel (ART CAMPUS, Prague (Czech Republic), Josef Novotnyy (department of health care, Polytechnic college of Iglava (Iglava, Czech Republic).

Diabetes mellitus was acknowledged to be the non-infectious epidemic of the XXI century. According to the data from World Health Organization in 2016 there are 380 millions of people, who suffer from diabetes mellitus, among them 1 million 400 thousands Ukrainians, 200 thousands of patients require the daily administration of insulin.

The scientific marathon “Win the diabetes mellitus” united the efforts of scientists, specialists in the sphere of health care and leading doctors of the world in the struggle against global threat to safety of humankind – diabetes mellitus. According to the words by national specialist in struggle against non-infectious diseases at WHO’s Bureau in Ukraine Nataliia Korol, the growth in sickness rate among children and teenagers causes the special worry. The catastrophic rates for distribution of diabetes mellitus now start surpassing the capability of health care system to render the aid to all patients. Thus, the necessity to attract the attention of the public, scientists, medical men, state and political leaders to the problem is always urgent.

Today not every one checks the level of sugar in organism, and weakness, caused by high content of sugar, is written off to hypertension, heart diseases or aged changes. The humankind often does not perceive diabetes mellitus as the diagnosis seriously. Such attitude to own health is fatal – at absence of treatment, the course of diabetes mellitus quickly progresses, the disease hurts the heart, the blood vessels, eyes, kidneys and nerves and increases the risk for development of insult.

The purpose for performance of the conference is to improve the awareness of population about risk factors for origin of dangerous non-infectious diseases and popularization of healthy life style.

The master classes, plenary meetings, lectures and consideration of program reports by participants will be held within the Conference to World Health Day.

Victory in the II tournament of all-Ukrainian contest of students scientific works

The results from the II tournament of all-Ukrainian contest of students’ scientific works in natural, technical and humanitarian sciences in 2015/2016 academic year”, which was held on 30-31, March, 2016, on the base of Kharkiv national medical university.

We are glad to inform that the student of the 4th course in the 2nd medical faculty Maranov Andrii Oleksandrovych became the winner and received the diploma of the 1st degree in the II tournament of all-Ukrainian contest of students’ scientific works due to specialty “Clinical and fundamental medicine, dentistry, pharmacology (in English)”.

The 2nd tournament of all-Ukrainian contest of students’ scientific works due to specialty “Clinical and fundamental medicine, dentistry, pharmacology (in English)” was held on 30-31, March, 2016 in city Kharkiv on the base of Kharkiv national university. The event was organized according to the order from Ministry of education and science of Ukraine No 1079, dd. 13.10.2015 “About performance of all-Ukrainian contest of students’ scientific works in natural, technical and humanitarian sciences in 2015/2016 academic year”.

The departmental contest commission provided with the review of students’ scientific works, received from higher schools from all regions in Ukraine. 15 contest works, received from higher schools of Ukraine, including from Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Sumy, Odessa, Poltava, were listened during final scientific practical conference. According to the open discussion of scientific works, reviews and scientific reports by participants in scientific practical conference, the departmental contest commission decided to award the diploma of the 1st degree to the student at O.O. Bohomolets National medical university Andrii Maranov.

Andrii Maranov presented the work, devoted to results from research of pharmacological properties and safety of iron nanoparticles as the perspective means for development of nano medicines. The researches, performed under supervision of corresponding member in NAS and NAMS of Ukraine, Doctor of Medicine, professor Chekman Ivan Serhiyovych at department of pharmacology at O.O. Bohomolets National medical university, as well at F.D. Ovcharenko Institute of biocolloid chemistry at NAS of Ukraine (director – Doctor of Chemistry, professor Ulberg Zoya Rudolfivna). The author also thanks to assistant at department of pharmacology Candidate of Medicine Doroshenko Andrii Mykhaylovych for assistance in performance of researches and preparation of scientific work.

Other winners and participants in the contest were awarded with diplomas, certificates and prizes.
